ACES Independent Prescribing (IP) Placement Programme – Terms & Conditions

The terms and conditions of the placement are below for your information:

Your Independent Prescribing Placement will take place at an Optical Express surgery clinic selected by Optical Express and ACES.
The Placement will include up to 24 half day (4 hour) sessions.
The clinic location may change throughout the Placement.
All qualified Optometrists who hold a current and valid General Optical Council (GOC) or CORU registration are entitled to participate in this programme. We will verify that you hold such a registration through regulator websites. You must bring photographic ID with you to your first session.
The Placement programme is not open to Pre-registration optometrists.
Participating optometrists must carry their own (AOP) insurance and provide DBS/PVG clearance evidence.
There will be no remuneration paid to participating optometrists.
As a condition of your participation in the programme you will be required to complete a questionnaire at the end of your placement day.
ACES and Optical Express is not responsible for any costs associated with the Independent Prescribing course or placement.
ACES and Optical Express will not reimburse any costs or charges associated with attending placement sessions. This includes, but is not limited to: travel, parking, food, accommodation etc.
As a condition of participating in this programme you agree to be contacted by the ACES marketing team regarding a short testimonial about your placement. ACES reserve the right to use this testimonial alongside your first name and job title on the ACES websites and within Public Relations (PR) and social media activity relating to the Independent Prescribing Placement Programme. Your personal information, with the exception of your name and job title, will not be disclosed. For the avoidance of doubt, the name of your current employer will not be disclosed.

The participation of each participant in the programme must be confirmed in writing by the ACES and Optical Express Clinical Services Director.
