We had a chat with Lyndsey Stichbury, NHS Partnership Executive for our brand-new clinic in Liverpool. She will play a key part in strengthening connections with local GPs and optometrists, ensuring they are aware of the services available at ACES. With a background in both orthopaedics and ophthalmology, Lyndsey is particularly dedicated to improving patient care.
- What were you doing previously?
I previously held a similar role with a healthcare competitor in the area, where I worked across both orthopaedics and ophthalmology. While I enjoyed both, ophthalmology was always my area of preference, so I’m truly excited to embark on this new journey. Throughout my career, building strong relationships has always been my top priority, and I’m eager to bring that focus to this new opportunity. It’s all about creating trust and providing exceptional care, and I’m looking forward to doing that in this new clinic.
- What first attracted you to join ACES?
The NHS waiting times can often be quite long, and with limited providers in our area, we’re hoping that by being centrally located in Liverpool, we can help reduce those waiting times. One of the main reasons I joined ACES was because I’m passionate about making a real difference in the community. Providing excellent patient care is something I take great pride in, and it’s a value I bring to every company work with.
ACES is brand new to Liverpool, so I’m really committed to ensuring its success and delivering exceptional care to our local patients. At ACES Liverpool, we’re focused on offering top-quality NHS services, with patient care always at the heart of everything we do. I’m excited to be part of this new chapter and to make a positive impact in people’s lives.
“Throughout my career, building strong relationships has always been my top priority, and I’m eager to bring that focus to this new opportunity.”
- Can you explain what your role with ACES involves?
As your NHS Partnership Executive, my role is to provide support to local GPs and optometrists. I’ll be visiting all the local practices, helping them understand the services we offer, and making sure they are aware of how we can assist their patients. Having worked in the area for some time, I’ve built strong relationships with many GPs, optometrists, and patients, and it’s incredibly important to me to continue fostering and strengthening these connections.
If anyone is experiencing eye concerns, I encourage them to visit their local GP or optometrist. We strongly believe in promoting patient choice, and they will help guide you on the right pathway for your care. Once referred, our team will reach out to you within seven hours to ensure your appointment is scheduled and that you’re supported every step of the way.
- What are you most excited about?
I’m beyond excited about the opening of our new clinic! When I first saw the location, I was absolutely blown away. The clinic itself is stunning, equipped with state of the art equipment from Zeiss and Johnson & Johnson, and the building is perfectly located in the heart of Liverpool, close to iconic landmarks and the docks. It’s easily accessible as it’s next to Moorfields station with plenty of parking available—honestly, it’s hard to imagine a better spot.
The team is incredible, too. Everyone shares the same commitment to providing exceptional care, which makes all the difference. We will be offering the full package of services at the clinic from pre-op and post-op cataract care, cataract surgery, YAG laser treatment, glaucoma management, oculoplastic surgery, and general ophthalmology.
- What is the best piece of advice that you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I have ever been given was by mum when I was younger. She always said, “treat others how you would like to be treated”. This has always put me in good stead, allowed me to have great friendships in my personal life and build great relationships with my peers in my work life.
- What would you do if you won the lottery?
If I won the lottery, the first thing I would do is book an extravagant holiday for all my family. Family is the most important thing in my life.
