Dr Adegboye Olajumoke Halimat started her medical career in Nigeria in 2013 with an internship at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where her responsibilities included various tasks in surgery, medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, and paediatrics.
She then moved on to being a Locum Medical Officer for a year at the Katsina Neuropsychiatry Hospital, all the while serving the National Youth Service Corps as a Medical Officer in the Kwara State Ministry of Health. She gained responsibilities working as a Medical Officer for the Kwara State Ministry of Health for a further 3 years tending to psychiatric cases.
After that tenancy, she joined the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in 2018 as a Registrar, and was appointed Senior Registrar in Ophthalmology 3 years later, where she then attended to 5 different units of Ophthalmology – Oculoplastics, Vitreoretinal, Glaucoma, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Corneal & Anterior Segment.
In 2015, she was awarded “Professor Ayanru’s Award to the Best Candidate in NPMCN Primaries” by the National Post-Graduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN).
Dr Adegboye Olajumoke Halimat moved to the UK in 2024, where she now performs as a Glaucoma Consultant.
