Mr Georgios Archontakis started his career as an Ophthalmology Resident in 2008 at the General Hospital of Serres in Greece before moving to the UK. His extensive experience comprises of both paediatric and adult ophthalmology, high-volume cataract surgery, squints, glaucoma, general ophthalmology, medical retina, traumatology and minor eyelid operations.
He took up posts as a Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology in Darlington, Barnsley and Doncaster, then as a Trust Doctor in Paediatric Ophthalmology at Barts NHS Trust, Royal London Hospital & Whipps Cross University Hospital in Whitechapel, before obtaining a fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology at Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust between 2018 to 2020.
A fervent advocate of continuous development, he has been attending regular meetings and conferences to perfect his knowledge. Across his career, he has presented to medical students and ophthalmology residents on topics spanning across a wide range of procedures, including paediatric ophthalmology emergencies.
Since 2022, he has been working as a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist across hospitals in Hereford and Yorkshire.
