Mr Avadhanam’s career started in India, where he won the “Best Outgoing Postgraduate Student” title at the end of his postgraduate training at the Regional Eye Hospital in Kurnool (2002). He then worked as a Locum in Ophthalmology in different hospitals across England and Wales from 2004 to 2010, before gaining additional experience as a Trainee Selected Component and a Clinical Fellow. Since 2017, he has established his permanent residence in the Bristol area. He led the Eye Emergency department at Bristol Eye Hospital between 2017-2018.
His publications include a number of collaborations with other experts in ophthalmology, spanning across topics such as cornea and keratoconus. Mr Avadhanam has presented lectures in meetings the world over, including Austria, France, India, Japan, Portugal and Spain. A fervent advocate for training and teaching his fellow colleagues, he has conducted workshops in his adoptive country England for over a decade.
